品質月間テーマ
The environment is changing at an accelerating pace, with declining birthrates, natural disasters, high prices, international conflicts, socioeconomic changes, and the rapid development of AI. In the mindsets of these changes, it is becoming harder to find joy in work, a sense of accomplishment, a sense of self-affirmation, and psychological security, and people may be feeling inconsistency in their work and a sense of alienation and entrapment. It is because now we are feeling stuck in this rapidly changing environment that something is needed to break through this situation.
Quality itself evaluates the goodness or badness of things and expresses the common goals and aspirations of people when they cooperate with each other. By focusing on quality, which evaluates goodness and badness, we can improve and create things. A wide variety of ideas and methods have been developed to enhance power of quality for each situation, including PDCA management, human resource development based on respect for humanity, demonstrating human and team capabilities, fostering scientific problem-solving ability and quality culture, value creation and leadership that opens up new markets, and utilizing AI and DX. PDCA originally represents the concept of management in an uncertain environment, aiming for a spiraling up (leveling up like climbing a spiral staircase) through improvement in an uncertain environment. It is because we are now feeling a sense of stagnation that we are expected to demonstrate the power of quality in the future to improve the current situation.
Adapting to a rapidly changing environment may not be a simple task. It is difficult to change the status quo alone, and simply utilizing ideas and methods in a formal manner may not work. Now is the time for everyone to think about the power of quality, demonstrate its power, and break through the impasse as we move toward the bright future of tomorrow. We hope that this Quality Month will be an opportunity for each and every one of us to look at quality and reconsider the meaning and value of quality.
